Infoblox not updating dns
Both have IPv4 DDNS settings "The network adapters in Windows are set with "Update DNS" unchecked for the wifi adapter, and "Update DNS" checked for the Net Motion virtual adapter (that's a carryover from before we transitioned the DHCP to Infoblox, when we wanted the Windows DNS client enacting the DNS change - though we don't think it should be needed, since the Infoblox DHCP range should be updating it anyway).
Our intention in setting the scopes this way was that the Net Motion IP would be present in DNS for the device (would "win").
Can anyone share some of your experience for the Active Directory Integration with Infoblox?
We are creating a new Forest and use Infoblox as the Authortative DNS service. All the underscore folder been created as well., We make the host record of the domain controller in IPAM and it populates to the subzone record.
You can see the record source type in the Resource Record Viewer.I have followed the white papers but the domain controller will not write the AD DNS information to the infoblox system. Hello, I need a solution and some help understanding how DDNS works and is updated on Infoblox. What I understand is that the client sends L2 broadcast to a DHCP server, with its MAC address and hostname.
Then, the DHCP server provides an IP address to the client, and sends an update to DNS with the clients IP MAC Hostname.
The thought process was that yes once every 4 days, the wifi lease would expire and yes, DNS might get updated to the wifi IP temporarily, but within an hour at most, the Net Motion lease would expire/renew, and the IP would be updated back to the Net Motion IP for the device.
